SESSION ACTIVITY: MAKING AN ALBUM COVER USING PHOTOSHOP

In the first session myself and the class was introduced to the module New Media: Design and Production.  The first task was learning how to make a mock up album cover using the software photoshop.

Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Inc. for Windows and macOS.  I have had previous experience using the software which meant that I was able to complete the task easier.

The task made us choose a random article name and quote generated and create an album cover design from it. Which means finding relevant images for the album.

The name that I generated was Raven and the quote was on to be scared

I was introduced to the website Pexel. which is a website that provide free stock photos. This will be beneficial in finding images for the main task.

I decided to search for ravens (bird) and found long shots of the forest and a woman with a bird.    The images were well suited to the name raven due to the woman holding a feather which creates a sense of mystery and allure.

I started by opening photoshop and placing the image I found on pexel and resized the image to fit in the square. Next I decided to add the text "RAVEN"

I then played around with the name placement.

My finished album features the name in bold white writing and the title of my song. I also added a record label png to make it more realistic.
